Shawnee County teacher named part of 2016 class of Kansas Master Teachers

TOPEKA (KSNT) – A teacher from Shawnee County is one of this year’s Master Teachers Class.

Emporia State University announced the seven members Wednesday and one is 7th Grade Math Teacher Jenny Wilcox from Washburn Rural Middle School. She’s a Washburn University graduate and began teaching at the middle school in 1997. Each of the seven Master Teachers will receive a $1,000 stipend as part of the award.

This year’s class will be honored on Master Teacher Day at Emporia State in April.
