Holton man arrested for allegedly murdering wife last October

HOLTON (KSNT) – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says they have arrested a 66-year-old man suspected of murdering his wife in October 2015.

Sheriff Tim Morse tells KSNT News George E. Fleshman Jr., of Holton, was arrested Tuesday morning at his residence for second degree murder. He is suspected to be allegedly involved in the murder of his wife, Elizabeth Jane Fleshman.

On October 20, 2015, the sheriff’s office says they received a 911 call from the Fleshman residence. George Fleshman Jr. told dispatchers that he found his wife unresponsive. She was then transported to a hospital where she later died the following day at 62-years-old.

An autopsy performed by Frontier Forensics in Kansas City, Kansas indicated that she died due to trauma to the spleen.

Morse says the sheriff’s office opened an investigation into Elizabeth Fleshman’s death due to suspicious circumstances.

Fleshman Jr. was booked into the Jackons County Jail with a bond pending at this time.
