MANHATTAN, Kan. (KSNT) – An elderly Manhattan woman was arrested for allegedly distributing drugs. Seventy-three-year-old Delilah Britt was arrested by Riley County Police on a warrant late Thursday afternoon.

She was arrested in the 2500 block of Farm Bureau Road. Charges include distribution of opiates, opium, narcotics, or stimulants/heroin, two counts of distribution with intent to distribute a controlled substance, and endangering a child.

Bond was set at $25,000, and she remained in the Riley County Jail as of Friday morning. The arrest stems from an investigation in July, August, and December of last year.

Meanwhile, a federal judge rejected a plea agreement Thursday that called for a five- to seven-year prison sentence for an 80-year-old man who ran a multi-state marijuana-dealing operation. He was stopped for speeding in Junction City in 2013 and officers found nearly $830,000 in cash in his old, beat-up pick-up truck.

Prosecutors say Dion ran a far-reaching marijuana operation for decades. Last month the judge in the case questioned the prosecution and defense why the plea deal was much lower than the 30 years called for by federal sentencing guidelines.
