MANHATTAN, Kan. (KSNT) — Starting on March 21, the Main Entrance to Via Christi Hospital will remain open until 10 p.m.
A volunteer will be at the Admissions Desk inside the Main Entrance to help patients and visitors who arrive between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. All non-emergency patients and visitors should enter through the Main Entrance until further notice.
A statement from the hospital says that this is to accommodate more patients and visitors as construction continues in the Emergency Room area. The hallway leading from the southern emergency entrance to the main part of the hospital will be closed for about one month, which affects non-emergent patients and visitors who normally come in through that southern entrance. It does not affect ER patients and their visitors.
The ER construction is part of a $15.5 million renovation project to provide more clinical space and updated features and to improve patient flow, access and security.
