TOPEKA (KSNT) – Fire crews were kept busy Monday morning trying to contain a brush fire.

Smoke could be seen across the city from the fire that broke out in the 1800 block of SE Madison at around 10am. Topeka Fire Department crews brought in a ladder truck to fight the fire from above. We’ve had a crew on the scene shortly after it broke out and will add information as it becomes available. As of right now, we know of no damage to nearby buildings or structures.
