Theft of construction equipment from Wamego business caught on tape

WAMEGO (KSNT) – The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a theft at a Wamego business that was all caught on video.

Sheriff Greg Riat says they were notified on Monday that a Mustang 2500RT Skid Loader and a black in color, 16 foot long Titan Trailer had been stolen from REED Company.

The theft happened between 3:37 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. on Monday. The Titan Trailer had loading ramps on each side and a black battery box near the tongue. The suspect had driven onto the REED lot in a dual wheel, quad cab pick-up truck with possibly an American Flag mounted on the passenger side rear corner of the truck bed.

The pick-up appears to be white in color and also resembles a Chevrolet. The pick-up has cab mounted lights on the top as well. The suspect driver is described to be an older white male, slouching posture and a medium set build wearing a mechanics work shirt, ball cap and jeans.

The Sheriff’s office reports loss to be estimated at over $69,000.

The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office says they are in the process of recovering the skid loader and trailer that were stolen. They will have more information for the public on Thursday.
