ST. GEORGE, Kan. (KSNT) — On Tuesday at about 5:24 p.m., the St. George Police Department and deputies from the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office went to 202 Northern Heights Circle on a call about a possible burglary in progress.
The caller said they had seen a white man lurking around the house and trying to get into it through different doors.
When law enforcement arrived, they surrounded the house and found that its back door was open. They began to search the house and, while there, found a man who did not live there.
Once they made sure no one else was in the house, they noticed drug-related items laying in plain view.
A 8:48 p.m., a search warrant was executed at the same house by the Saint George Police Department. The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office helped.
They ultimately found marijuana, methamphetamine, and various drug paraphernalia in the house, as well as some unknown substances that were taken to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation Laboratory for testing.
The man found inside the house was released without charges, pending further investigation.
The investigation is still ongoing. If anyone has information related to this case or any other crime, please contact the Saint George Police Department at 785-494-2556.
