CHICAGO (KSNT) – The Kansas City Chiefs drafted former Notre Dame cornerback KeiVarae Russell in the 3rd round of the 2016 NFL Draft with the 74th overall selection.
Russell broke his fibula at the end of the 2015 college football season. He was a starter as a true freshman at Notre Dame, but battled injuries throughout his career with the Fighting Irish which limited his playing time.
In the first round of last year’s draft, the Chiefs also selected a cornerback, Marcus Peters. He went on to win the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
