TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) — The Topeka Fire Department responded to a structure fire Monday evening at 501 SE Gray Street in Topeka.
Just before 8:30 p.m. fire crews arrived on scene to find heavy smoke coming from the roof of a single family home. A rapid search by crews revealed nobody was inside. The Topeka Fire Department says an occupant did arrive later on scene.
Early investigation indicated the cause of the fire to be undermined at this time, saying it was more likely than not accidental, associated with the failure and or malfunction of electrical branch circuitry.
The estimated amount in damage is $10,000.
