TOPEKA (KSNT) – Time is quickly running out for some players with the Topeka Train Robbers baseball team.
Most of the players will have to leave their Topeka motel Thursday night as all rooms are full for this weekend’s NHRA races at Heartland Park. On Monday a ceremony was held to officially welcome the team to the capital city. The team will be playing in the independent Pecos League. The Train Robbers are relocating from Las Vegas, New Mexico and will be playing 35-to-38 games from May to August. Their first home game is this Friday night at the Bettis Sports complex at 29th and Croco.
