CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WRIC) — A Chesterfield native’s short film is going viral online.  Jamie Brindle, a Manchester High School and James Madison University graduate, released The Catcher on May 11.

Set in 1930’s Japan, it is based on the true story of professional baseball player-turned World War II spy, Moe Berg.  Whenever President Roosevelt would be briefed on Moe’s actions, he would always respond with, “Send my regards to the Catcher.”

Brindle, a standup comedy producer and short film director/producer who now lives in Los Angeles, says Richmond is never too far away.

“I wear my RVA hat every day that I’m on a set to remind me I’m playing for the home team.”

In the first 24 hours following its release, The Catcher received 3,000 views on Vimeo.  You can watch it here.
