TOPEKA (KSNT) – A Topeka man was seriously injured after colliding with a sanitation truck Wednesday morning.
According to the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at approximately 8 o’clock when a motorcycle driving by 29 year-old Jacob Seckington of Topeka was traveling southbound in the 6600 block of North Topeka Boulevard. The motorcycle approached a Macmillan Sanitation Truck which was also traveling southbound. The Macmillan Sanitation truck made a left turn on NW 66th. eckington attempted to pass the trash truck on the left. The motorcycle struck the trash truck on the driver side. As a result of the collision, Mr. Seckington was pinned with the motorcycle under the trash truck. Soldier Township Fire Dept. personnel arrived on scene and were able to extricate Seckington from under the sanitation truck. He was taken to Stormont Vail with serious, but non-life threatening, injuries. The accident is still under investigation.
