Police continue to investigate 2015 shooting that killed 5-year-old Topeka girl

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – The Topeka Police Department is continuing to investigate and seek information into the death of a 5-year-old Topeka girl killed last year in a shooting.

Topeka police were called out to the intersection of SE Golf Park Blvd. and SE Fremont on the night of July 6, 2015 in regards to a shooting. When officers arrived on the scene it was determined that 5-year-old Lily Coats-Nichols had been killed by a bullet while sitting in a vehicle during a drive-by shooting in that intersection.

The shooting occurred during multiple other shootings in the Hi-Crest neighborhood last summer.

Police are asking anyone who may know the identity of the subject or subjects involved to call Crime Stoppers at (785) 234-0007.
