Man hospitalized after early morning shooting in SE Topeka

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) — A man was shot in the leg this morning in Topeka after three suspects approached him, talked with him, then shot him.

At 2:39 a.m. on Saturday, Topeka Police officers went to the 3300 Block of SE Bryant on a call about a shooting that had just happened.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his upper right thigh. An ambulance took the man to a local hospital for treatment and he is expected to recover.

While investigating, officers found a crime scene and several witnesses. They discovered that three Hispanic males in their early- to mid-20s had approached the victim and exchanged words with him before shooting him. The three then fled the scene in a newer Honda car that was silver in color
