Authorities investigating death of Saline County woman as homicide

ASSARIA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Kansas Bureau of Investigations and the Saline County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the death of a Saline County woman after she was found by a relative Saturday evening.

In a Monday morning press conference officials said they are investigating the woman’s death as a homicide.

In a statement released over the weekend by the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, they say Salina EMS and deputies were dispatched to 10525 S. Hopkins Road in rural Saline County, just before 8 p.m.

57-year old Lori J. Heimer was pronounced dead at the scene by Salina EMS, upon arrival.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation’s Crime Scene Response Team has been called in to assist with this investigation.
