MIAMI (KSNT) – Various reports, including The Vertical, say former Kansas State basketball player Rodney McGruder has been signed by the Miami Heat to a partially guaranteed three-year contract.
McGruder has been a part of the Heat’s Summer League team for the last two years, averaging close to four points and three rebounds per game.
During the 2015-16 season, McGruder was in the NBDL as part of the Sioux Falls Skyforce. His team went on to win the D-League championship.
Miami recently dealt with the departure of all-star guard Dwayne Wade who returned to his hometown of Chicago to play for the Bulls in the 2016-17 season.
