Man killed by train in Osage County

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) — The Osage County Sheriff’s Department reported a man was hit by a train and died.

Around 3:30 pm Monday, deputies responded to a call from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Rail Road of a man sitting on a railroad bridge near 269th and Stubbs Road. When they arrived, they found the man dead and believed he hit by the train.

The identity of the man has not been released, pending notification to immediate family.

The accident is being investigated by the Osage County Sheriff’s Department and BNSF.
