Royals reinstate Lorenzo Cain, option Eibner to Omaha

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Kansas City Royals announced today that outfielder Lorenzo Cain has been returned from his rehab assignment and reinstated from the 15-day disabled list. He will be in uniform for tonight’s game with the Texas Rangers. To make room for Cain on the roster, the Royals have optioned outfielder Brett Eibner to Omaha (AAA).

Cain, 30, has been sidelined since June 29 with a left hamstring strain. He played in two games with the Storm Chasers during his rehab assignment, going 3-for-8.
