Wichita woman, children become target in northeast park shooting

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Wichita woman taking her children to a north Wichita park became a target of shots fired Monday evening. It happened around 8:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of North Piatt.

A 26-year-old woman told police that she and her four children were pulling into the park. They witnessed a fight between a group of women. The woman told police another woman fired several shots at her and her children. She immediately called 911. Officers arrived and arrested the suspect, a 33-year-old woman, for five counts of aggravated assault.
