CDC gives $400K to Kansas for fight against Zika virus

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – Kansas is getting money from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to fight the Zika virus.

The CDC awarded $400,000 to the state.

The money will be used to address the emerging threat and quickly identify cases of microcephaly and other birth defects linked to Zika.

Kansas will also be able to monitor the health and developmental outcomes of kids affected by Zika over time.
