TOPEKA (KSNT) — A man and woman are in jail after a high speed chase started in Topeka and ended in Nebraska.
The chase started in Topeka just before 2 p.m. Thursday. The Kansas Highway Patrol chased a white Hyundai SUV on highway 75 with 30-year-old Donnell Johnson and 22-year-old Brijeth Garcia from Florida inside.
Once the car crossed state lines, Nebraska State Patrol tried to stop the vehicle. A Kansas Highway Patrol helicopter followed the chase overhead.
Stop sticks were able to flatten the car’s tires shortly after 3 p.m. near Plattsmouth. Johnson and Garcia tried to run away but were caught.
Both are in the Cass County jail in Nebraska.
