TOPEKA (KSNT) — The Topeka Fire Department said a house fire Monday night in Topeka was set on purpose. Firefighters were called shortly after 9:30 p.m. to a house in the 400 block of SE Leland Street.
No one was inside the home at the time of the fire. Neighbors told KSNT News the home is condemned but there have been people in the home recently.
Topeka Fire Batallion Chief Chris Herrera said there were boards on the front door of the house but they were not sure if the house was vacant.
The estimated dollar loss is set at $17,000.
