TOPEKA (KSNT) — Topeka firefighters were called to 2 garage fires early Tuesday morning.
The first was shortly after midnight in the 1200 block of SW Plass Avenue. At first it was called in as a tree on fire, but was upgraded to a garage fire before firefighters arrived.
Investigators believe the fire was set on purpose. The estimated damage loss is around $8,500.
The second garage fire was in the 400 block of NE Scotland Avenue. It’s not known if the two fires are connected to one another.
Crews on the scene say several adjacent vehicles and structures sustained radiant heat damage as a result of the fire.
Investigators say the fire was more than likely intentionally set. Damages were placed at $22,000.
