Fundraiser held for Kade Lenard, sole survivor of US 24 crash

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – A fundraiser was held Tuesday night for the sole surviving victim of a deadly crash on Highway 24 last month.

American Chrome Productions, The Saints Football team and Via’s Pizza put on the event.

Via’s is donated 10 percent of all food sales to help with 13-year-old Kade Lenard’s medical expenses.

Kade’s football teammates volunteered to help serve meals at the restaurant Tuesday night.

“I think it shows that we’re not just a football team, we’re a big football family, and that we all care about each other and want to support each other.  He’s got a bunch of brothers’ right there with him.” Said John and Shelly Holloway, friends of Kade.

Kade’s father, Lance Lenard of Rossville, died in the crash on Highway 24 on August 18th.

Gabby Greeve, Tyler Crouse and Devin Greeve, all Silver Lake students also died in the crash.
