TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – A multi-million dollar project at Topeka’s Mars Chocolate Plant was considered for economic incentives Wednesday night at the joint economic development organization’s meeting.

“Project Storm” is code for the Mar’s deal and it notes the company will consider an additional $1 Million investment in the Topeka plant.

It was a unanimous vote by the Topeka and Shawnee County’s joint economic development organization approving a contract that provides a $260,000 incentive funding for the company. This decision guarantees another 70 jobs. “Project Mare,” which does not name the company, was also to be considered but was pulled from the agenda.

KSNT News learned that company is likely Goodyear.
