RoadRunners ready for NAHL season-opener on Thursday

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Topeka RoadRunners begin their 10th season in the Capital City on Thursday night when they welcome the defending champions, the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, into Landon Arena at the Kansas Expocentre.

In the 2015-16 season, the ‘Runners finished 3rd in the South Division before losing in the Division Finals.

With the new season about to get underway, the team is ready for another strong showing.

“The excitement is really high,” said RoadRunners head coach Josh Kamrass. “A lot of nerves with that, so we just have to contain that and make sure we’re not showing too much emotion, and we’re just playing our game and working hard.”

“I feel like everybody is a little bit nervous, a little bit tense, but everybody is excited to finally start the season,” said RoadRunners center Marshall Bowery. “We’re going to go out tomorrow and give it our all and see what happens.”

“We’ve been getting out in the community and trying tot get to schools and different events and we’re pretty excited about it,” said RoadRunners forward Jeff Makowski. “Hopefully we ave a big turnout.”

Thursday – 6:05 p.m.
Friday – 7:05 p.m.
Saturday – 7:05 p.m.
