I-70 construction to wrap up a month early

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) told KSNT News that the construction on I-70 is set to finish by mid October instead of mid November. Construction started in May.

Kim Qualls with KDOT says that good weather has sped up the process.

The preservation project starts from the East Topeka Turnpike tollbooth all the way to Urish Road- a stretch of about 13 miles.

The highway sees over 38,000 to 61,000 vehicles a day.
