Bicyclist taken to hospital after being hit by car in Topeka


TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – Investigators are trying to find out Wednesday morning if crosswalk lights were activated when a car and bike crashed.

Topeka police say at 2:26 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to an injury accident in the 100 block of east 29th Street. Police say the vehicle was heading westbound on 29th crossing over the Landon Trail. The bicyclist was traveling north bound on the Landon Trail, striking the left front fender of the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
