Firefighters battle early morning Topeka fire, believed to be arson

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) — Topeka firefighters were on scene Friday morning of a home on fire.

Crews responded to the structure fire at 1112 SW Woodward Avenue just before 4:00. When crews arrived the home was fully engulfed in flames.

No one was inside the home at the time.

A neighbor next door was treated for smoke inhalation but they were not taken to a hospital.

Early investigation indicates the fire was intentionally set.

The estimated amount of damage is estimated to be $31,500.
