Topeka fire officials seeking help in recent arson fire

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – The Topeka Fire Department announced Thursday they are requesting assistance from the public in regards to an arson fire last Friday in Topeka.

TFD says the structure fire took place on the morning of September 30 at 1112 SW Woodward Ave. just before 4:00. Investigators determined the cause of the fire was arson.

An unknown person (s) is believed to have entered the building from the alleyway and set the fire.

The Topeka Fire Department says they are actively investigating several fire incidents in the area and is currently following any and all leads that come in. TFD says they request that people stay vigilant by securing vehicles and structures, keeping alleyways clean of trash and discarded furniture and reporting nay suspicious activity.

Anyone who may know the identity of the subject or subjects responsible for this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 234-0007.
