TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – After months of pumping the brakes, drivers are finally able to ease up in Topeka.
The Kansas Department of Transportation reports that the 55 mph work zone speed limit signs on westbound I-70 from East Topeka KTA Toll Gate to Urish Road have been removed and the speed limit has returned to normal posted speeds in Topeka.
KDOT says crews are now removing the eastbound I-70 work zone signs and should be completed by mid-afternoon Wednesday.
KDOT says there is still pavement marking work to complete throughout he project limits on I-70, which means that when crews are working overnight/weekends that the speed limit may be reduced again during the working hours. Overall project is scheduled to be completed in early to mid-November 2016, weather permitting.
