TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – Topeka police are currently investigating a shooting Wednesday morning that sent one person to the hospital.
The Topeka Police Department reports that at 1:43 a.m. officers were sent to St. Francis hospital in reference to a shooting victim that had just arrived by a private vehicle.
Officers made contact with the male victim who says he was in the 400 block of SE Winfield when he was shot by a black man in his twenties, medium build with long braided hair.
According to a release from police, the victim suffered injuries believed to be non-life threatening and is expected to make a full recovery.
Topeka police says they are looking for 26-year-old Deontay Kashif Spearman, of Topeka, for questioning.
