*DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF NORTHEAST KANSAS THROUGH NOON
We’re tracking widespread fog across Northeast Kansas this morning. Yesterday’s rain and last night’s clear skies were the perfect ingredients for some fairly dense fog. Drive safely out there. Daytime sunshine dominates the forecast over the next seven days – today is no exception either. High temperatures will push themselves into the lower/middle 70s this afternoon, as winds become southerly. Speaking of – get ready for a windy day tomorrow. South winds will gust up to 30mph on Friday, pumping in unseasonably warm weather just in time for the holiday weekend. Wall-to-wall sunshine and warm winds will boost highs into the middle 80s (yes, you read that correctly) for Friday afternoon. And the nice, summer-like weather isn’t stopping there!
Expect 70s and 80s to carry through the first few days of November! In fact, high temperatures on Halloween will be around 80° too! That means temps will ‘cool’ into the lower 70s just in time for trick-or-treating Monday evening. We couldn’t have asked for better weather to close out October, even if we wanted to! Our next chance for rain will wait until next Wednesday (at the earliest). Don’t expect these warm temperatures to last forever, though. Recent computer models suggest seasonal temps will return late next week with more meaningful chances for rain. Stay tuned.
