TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – Topeka has seen more car break-ins this year than the last. According to the Topeka Police Department (TPD) there have been 1,250 break-ins.
YEAR TOTAL UNLOCKED
2015 820 543
2016 1250 801
TPD says that they try to keep on top of break-ins by posting PSA’s and sharing typical reminders like Lock it, Remove it, or Lose it and See Something, Say Something.
Although it seems like common sense, it’s important you know that break-ins are more common in cars left unlocked.
Last week KSNT also reported on a number of car break-ins in Manhattan.
