Trump has a strong lead with 49 percent and Clinton is trailing with 38 percent. Libertarian Gary Johnson gets 7 percent of the vote. Green Party candidate Jill Stein stands at 1 percent. Six percent of those polled are still undecided. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 4 percent.

The interesting takeaway is motivation in voting.

“We’ve seen a significant shift over the last six weeks with Trump voters really voting against Hillary really more than they are voting for Trump,” says KSN Political Analyst Jeff Jarman. “Back in mid-September, Trump actually had a much larger percentage of his voters that were voting for him. But six weeks later, we see Trump supporters really just dialed-in with a vote against Hillary Clinton.”

Jarman points out that those Trump supporters who are voting “against Clinton” has gone from 38 percent on the 12th of September, to 50 percent in the latest poll.

The poll shows in early voting, Hillary Clinton is outperforming Trump.

Jarman also says, while the numbers have varied, there is no major shift likely to put Hillary Clinton over the top in Kansas.

“Early return (early voting) numbers are fairly strong for Clinton. And that is reflection of the Democratic get-out-the-vote campaign that really mimics numbers,” explains Jarman. “Clinton’s lead among early voters will likely not hold up, I think, by election day. We’ll see Trump with a comfortable lead in Kansas.”
