Man wanted for questioning in Harvey Co. triple homicide

NEWTON, Kan. (KSNW) – The Harvey County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a man wanted for questioning in a triple homicide that occurred on Sunday.

Jereme Lee Nelson is wanted for questioning. Jereme has warrants issued through Butler and Sedgwick Counties. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.  According to a report from the Kansas Department of Corrections, Nelson has prior convictions for meth, firearms, burglary, and theft.

On Tuesday, the sheriff’s department identified the victims as 33-year-old Travis Street, 37-year-old Angela Graevs and the couple’s Newton friend, 52-year-old Richard Prouty.

Authorities said the couple who were shot to death along with another man in rural central Kansas was facing drug and child endangerment charges.
