Arrest warrants issued for two suspects in Harvey County triple homicide

NEWTON, Kan. (KSNW) – The Harvey County Sheriff’s Department has issued arrest warrants for 35-year-old Jereme Nelson and 31-year-old Myrta Rangel.

The warrants are for capital murder, and the first-degree murder of 33-year-old Travis Street, 37-year-old Angela Graves, and 52-year-old Richard Prouty. The three were found shot to death Sunday night. Their bond has been set at $1 million each.

Nelson has warrants issued through Butler and Sedgwick Counties. He is considered to be armed and dangerous. According to a report from the Kansas Department of Corrections, Nelson has prior convictions for meth, firearms, burglary, and theft.

Nelson and Rangel are on the run and were last know to be somewhere in Oklahoma. If you know anything about Nelson’s or Rangel’s whereabouts, call 316-284-6960 or 911.

Harvey County Prosecuting Attorney David Yoder says the motive for the killings appears to be drug-related.
