Person arrested after high-speed chase in Topeka

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – A Kansas Highway Patrol spokesperson (KHP) tells KSNT News that one person is in custody following a high speed chase through Topeka.

KHP officers attempted to pull over a vehicle at mile marker 335 on Interstate 70 for a speeding violation. Police say the driver pulled to the side of the road but took off in the vehicle soon after.

The chase lasted 30 minutes with speeds topping 100 miles per hour.  The chase ended in Topeka at near the 2000 block of SE Colorado. The suspect was taken into custody. This is a developing story. We will keep you updated as we learn more.
