Rossville man killed in weekend hang gliding accident

SHAWNEE COUNTY, Kan. (KSNT) – A Rossville man has killed this past weekend in a hang gliding accident.

The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office reports deputies were called to the 3700 block of NW Davis Road at 3:30 Saturday afternoon on a report of a hang gliding accident.

When officers arrived they found an unresponsive man lying in a field, wearing a harness attached to a hang glider.

Officers attempted CPR but the individual, identified as 50-year-old Jeffery L Glidewell, died as a result of injuries sustained from the accident.

This incident is still under investigation.
