Officials investigating Jackson County structure fire

CIRCLEVILLE, Kan. (KSNT) – Officials in Jackson County are investigating a structure fire in Circleville.

The reports came in before 9 p.m. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says the resident of 301 Lincoln Street returned home to find fire inside his home. When firefighters arrived on scene they could see fire coming out the door of the residence. They were able to quickly bring the fire under control.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the Kansas Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating with the Fire Department to determine the cause of the fire. The structure has previously been used as a grocery store in the past and is currently being used as an apartment house.  The structure was not occupied at the time of the fire.
