TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – After he lit the Statehouse Christmas tree, Kansas Governor Sam Brownback was reluctant to share any information on whether he, Kobach, or any other Kansas politician, had an official place under Trump’s administration.

But it doesn’t mean that Kansas politicians haven’t made an impression on the president-elect.

Rumors and speculations on Kansas politicians and their recent visits with president-elect Donald Trump have flooded the political world.

Trump outlined his priorities for the first 100 days in office in a video message today.

“Our transition team is working very smoothly and effectively,” he says. “Truly great and talented men and women, patriots indeed, are being brought in and soon be part of our government.”

One potential name on that list is Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, who brought a Department of Homeland Security strategic plan into his meeting with the president-elect.

“Kris is a really talented guy,” says Brownback. “He’s done a great job (as) Secretary of State. He’s a- he’s a talented guy so I wish him all the best. I don’t have any information on anything.”

But when Brownback was asked about his rumored potential job as Secretary of Agriculture under Trump he said he wouldn’t answer any questions regarding him and the Trump administration.

Brownback was once the Kansas Agriculture Secretary and he served as an adviser to Trump on Agricultural matters during the campaign.

And Kansas seems to be fertile ground for potential candidates for Trump’s administration. Trumps transition team announced Friday that Kansas Republican representative Mike Pompeo was picked to be his CIA Director.
