2 firefighters, 1 person hurt in Hutchinson apartment fire

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KSNW) – One person and two firefighters were hurt in an apartment fire in Hutchinson late Monday night. It happened around 11:45 p.m near the corner of 30th Avenue and Severance.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames on two adjacent apartment buildings. One person was trapped inside their apartment, and fire crews had to cut a hole in the wall to pull them out.

The extent of that person’s injuries is unknown. The two firefighters suffered minor injuries.

The fire was knocked down within an hour, and now the cause of the fire is under investigation.
