KU, K-State rivals cheer for team before big game

MANHATTAN, Kan. (KSNT) — Are you team Jayhawks or team Wildcats? Saturday, November 26, 2016 is the Sunflower Showdown. This win could mean big things for the hall of fame coach, Bill Snyder…especially since the game will be at the stadium named after him.

“I don’t think they have as much talent as K-State does,” Kelly Warren, Wildcats fan said. “K-State definitely has the football talent. You know, each of us have our own good things. KU has good things, but K-State has some good things with football.”

The rivalry is apparent in Aggieville. If Coach Snyder wins the game, then he’ll be able to join the Elite 200 Club — A mark only 25 college coaches have ever accomplished.

K-State and KU have been rivals for years. But, after KU pulled out a shocking win against the Texas Longhorns November 19, 2016, some fans might be on the edge of their seats to see what Coach Snyder has up his sleeve.

“He’s not going to underestimate them,” Sheridan Warren, Wildcats fan said. “They had a good win last week against Texas, but I think they’ll pull through.”

Jayhawk fans were making themselves known around Aggieville too. One group KSNT news talked to grew up as KU fans, even though they live in Manhattan.

“They may be able to pull it off,” One Jayhawks fan said. “They did beat Texas so…They won last weekend so they have a lot of momentum going into this next game.”
