Hate messages found on sidewalk chalk drawings at Wichita State University

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Wichita State University students and employees arriving on campus Monday reported sidewalk chalk drawings in front of several buildings. Some of these drawings included words commonly considered hate speech regarding race and gender identity.

“We deplore all forms of hate speech, including these acts of vandalism,” said WSU President John Bardo. “The vandalism is being investigated by the University Police Department and the drawings have been removed.”

Anyone who has information regarding the messages should report it to Wichita State University Police at 316-978-3450.
