KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WU Sports) — Washburn junior forward Brady Skeens has been named the MIAA’s Player of the Week as announced today by the MIAA office.
Brady Skeens averaged 17.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 5.0 blocks, 3.0 steals and shot 83 percent from the field last week as Washburn improved to 8-0 on the season. He hit 15 of 18 shots from the field and 4 of 6 free throws and became Washburn’s all-time blocks leader collecting his 103rd against Newman moving past former Ichabod All-American Ewan Auguste on the all-time chart. He was 7 for 8 from the field with 16 points and 10 rebounds in 20 minutes against Manhattan Christian adding five blocks and two steals. On Dec. 3, he was 8 of 10 from the field hitting both free throw attempts adding 14 rebounds and five more blocks with five assists against Newman. The 6-7 forward is a native Lenexa, Kan. where he competed at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School.
