TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – Emergency crews were on scene after a semi rolled over Wednesday morning.
The incident took place just after 10:30 a.m. on the K-4 northbound ramp to U.S. Highway 24 westbound, 1 mile east of Topeka.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said the semi was northbound on the K-4 ramp to westbound U.S. 24 when the driver failed to navigate the curve , causing the semi and the trailer to overturn into a ditch.
The driver of the semi, Jerry E. Kerr, 74, of Olathe, is expected to be fine, a passenger, Samuel D. Cruse, 28, of Kansas City, Kansas, was taken to Stormont Vail Hospital with minor injuries.
Both Kerr and Cruse were wearing seat belts.
