TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) – The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a two-vehicle crash at NE K-4 and Seward Ave., near Topeka’s Oakland neighborhood.
The crash happened just after 10:30 Wednesday night. According to authorities, the driver of a 2007 Chevy Monte Carlo entered the wrong ramp attempting to get onto K-4 Hwy from Seward Ave. The car collided head on with a 2012 Toyota Tundra pickup that had exited K-4 Hwy approaching Seward Ave.
The Monte Carlo was driven by Timothy Green III, 25, of Kansas City, MO. There was an 18-year-old female passenger in the car as well. Both occupants of the car were wearing their seat belts and there was no sign of impairment by the driver.
Both have minor injuries, but did not go to the hospital. Green was cited for driving the wrong way and not having a valid driver’s license.
The Toyota Tundra was driven by Jamin Halladay of Topeka. He was also wearing his seat belt and did not show any signs of driving while impaired. Halladay has minor injuries, but is expected to be okay. He was not taken to the hospital.
The exit ramp was closed for a short time but is now fully open.
