KSNT News Multimedia Journalist
Gretchen was born and raised in Danville, California, a town in the San Francisco Bay Area. Although Gretchen grew up in California, she’s always had ties to the Midwest. Gretchen has family in Iowa, Wisconsin and Kansas. This factor, as well as the friendly people in Kansas, made moving to the Sunflower State an easy transition.
Gretchen graduated from Kansas State University in May 2017. While at K-State, Gretchen majored in Digital Media with an Electronic Focus. She was a student-athlete at K-State where she rode for the Kansas State University Equestrian Team. Gretchen was selected by her coaches and teammates to be a part of the Leadership Academy, where K-State student-athletes gain invaluable leadership skills.
Gretchen’s passion for journalism stems from a very young age. She grew up watching the morning newscast before school everyday. She would later intern at KTVU Fox 2 News in Oakland, California, the very same station she grew up watching every morning.
Gretchen began an internship at KSNT the summer of 2016.
The people at the station, and the stories Gretchen would cover during her internship led her to join the team part-time throughout her senior year at K-State. Gretchen is now a full-time Multimedia Journalist at KSNT.
Gretchen’s passion is telling other people’s stories and she wants to be a voice for the people of Northeast Kansas. She takes this as both an opportunity, but also a responsibility. She takes everyday at KSNT as a blessing and a dream come true.
